Amon Amarth - Brixton Academy 30th Nov 2019

Afternoon on Saturday 30 th November 2019. A time before covid and the ET crew find themselves on a bus from Clapham Junction towards the Badlands of Wandsworth. Why you ask? Well, it might have something to do with the amazing Amon Amarth playing at Brixton that evening! But first, it was time for the ET crew to check into their accommodation for the evening before fuelling up for the evening ahead in the lovely Wandsworth branch of GBK. With our stomachs suitably filled and 4 hours till stage time, it was over the road into the Ram Inn. The Ram, as it turned out was right up the ET crew’s street with a wood fire, old beams and plenty of seats. Result! T enjoyed a nice couple of pints of Youngs bitter, with E sticking to form and having a few pints of angry orchard. After warming up nicely, it was back onto the bus towards Clapham Junction. This was on E’s suggestion that this pub once had the longest bar in the world! On entering, it turned out the pub was packed, but as you’d e...

Slipknot - The o2 25th Jan 2020

Following on from their amazing set at download, the ET rock crew decided it was high time we saw Slipknot in their own gig. For T, this would be a first trip to the o2 arena and what a band to make his o2 debut for! T arrived at E’s ready and prepped for the journey to London and soon the ET crew were heading east towards the capital in E’s motor. During this journey several odd looks were given towards us, largely due to the fact we were blasting several bands music rather loudly. I hope the inhabitants of Wandsworth and Greenwich like Iron Maiden, Slipknot and Amon Amarth! Arriving into Greenwich and with the car safely parked, it was off to the hotel to drop the bags and freshen up prior to the night ahead. People say eating is cheating, but not for the ET crew! Before sampling some of Greenwich’s licensed premises a lining of the stomach was required. Thankfully, both E and T are big fans of Mediterranean food so what better place to fill the stomachs than the amazing Zeytin’s...

Hello World

Hello. You might find it odd that the two of us have decided to set something like this up during such uncertain times around the music industry, but you'd be wrong! Until we're allowed to go back to gigs the two of us will be sharing stories from a time before COVID during which we went to many a good gig and had many an amazing night out to follow! So, without further ado let me introduce the two of us.  We are two metal heads from the Royal Country of Berkshire who have been attending gigs (and some festivals!) with each other for many years. Both of us love a good night out post gigs even on a school night (hence why we always take the following day off!). Most of the gigs we attend are either in London or around the Berkshire area (Sub 89 in Reading being a particular favourite of ours), although we have been known to travel further afield. We're often found in the pubs surrounding a venue several hours before a gig and often found in various clubs and bars afterwards...
