With our stomachs suitably filled and 4 hours till stage
time, it was over the road into the Ram Inn. The Ram, as it turned out was right
up the ET crew’s street with a wood fire, old beams and plenty of seats. Result!
T enjoyed a nice couple of pints of Youngs bitter, with E sticking to form and
having a few pints of angry orchard.
After warming up nicely, it was back onto the bus towards
Clapham Junction. This was on E’s suggestion that this pub once had the longest
bar in the world! On entering, it turned out the pub was packed, but as you’d
expect from somewhere which once had the longest bar in the world, getting served
was a doddle and the ET crew soon found somewhere to perch and put the world to
rights washed down with another lovely few pints.
Before long and with the stage time an hour and a half away,
it was into an uber for the short trip to Brixton. Into the queue the ET crew
went and after the obligatory security checks, it was into Brixton academy and
into the merch queue. Mech purchased, it was off to the ET crews second home,
the bar! It turns out Brixton academy do 2-pint pots so 2 2 pints of Carlsberg
were soon rustled up and the ET crew were soon rocking to the sounds of the
support band, Arch Enemy.

Following on from Arch Enemy, it was time for a draining of the tanks and a few double vodkas to fuel the ET crew for what was about to happen. Suddenly, the lights dimmed and Run to the Hills by the legendry Iron Maiden was playing over the speakers. The sold-out Brixton Academy knew what was coming. Suddenly they burst onto the stage with Ravens flight sending the capacity crowd berserk. The rest of the gig continued with the same energy accompanied by a lot of fire and fireworks.

Following the Railway, it was under the railway bridge to Tropix bar. The crew encountered one the friendliest bouncers ever who seemed to love our Amon Amarth t-shirts. Into the Caribbean themed bar the crew went and discovered a wonderful range of largely rum based cocktails (unfortunately we can’t tell you what these were!).
After a few too many rums, E decided the ET crew needed to up the ante by heading down the road to the infamous Infernos nightclub! Into the queue the crew went. We couldn’t have looked more out of place than a drum and bass fan at the gig we’d just been to! Past the bouncers and with the entry fee paid, it was into the belly of the cheesy beast. More drinks and shots purchased, it was onto the dance floor where the crew went mental to such artists as the spice girls and Sania Twain. The state of two metal heads going mental to this kind of music, must have been a sight to behold! The crew even managed to get into the area behind the DJ in his wonderfully cheesy disco ball booth!

With the clock nearing 4am, it was off to the nearest kebab shop for large donners and water before entering one of London’s finest and then passing out!
The following morning, with very sore heads, it was off for
a spot of Breakfast in a café near Clapham Junction before the crew boarded their
onward transport back to the royal county.
Who says pop and heavy metal fans can’t all get on!
